Since January 2015, the Community has run the Centre with a Board of local people. The Centre is managed by our General Manager, Karen Creagh, and a team of dedicated staff who are highly qualified to life-guard and teacher swimming lessons and lead personal training in the gym.
Board members:
Malcolm Adkins: Company Secretary: Retired University lecturer set up and successfully ran a traditional boat building Co-operative. He project-managed the restoration of the Coventry Canal basin warehouses & medieval buildings in Spon End.
Chris Mellings: Company Finance Officer: Retired Shropshire County Councillor for over 35 years. He is a Trustee of Wem Millenium Green Sports & Social Club
Edward Towers: Shropshire County Councillor and Wem Town Councillor
Ian Jamieson: A local architect who drew up plans and costings for the gym extension in 2017
Caroline Naylor: Having used the Centre for more than 30 years since, she feels extremely blessed to have this facility on her doorstep. She is a keen swimmer and has been a board member for 5 years.
