Swimming Lessons will start again on 19th April , below are the new swimming lesson procedures and the new timetable for lessons.
Swimming lessons Procedures
We are having to make changes to our procedures for swimming lessons due to Covid-19. Our aim is to keep all our customers and staff safe. We are following the guidelines, set out by the government and our governing body Swim England.
Changes to lessons
We will aim to maintain social distancing in the pool, 2 metres between children, which will result in smaller classes, and a maximum of 2 classes at a time.
Our teachers will be teaching from the poolside only.
Parents/carers of children in stages 1 & 2 are welcome to assist their child in the water during swimming lessons, if they feel that their child would benefit from this. Though adequate buoyancy aids will be provided.
All lesson equipment and poolside will be disinfected between sessions.
There will be no spectators’ area, as we cannot ensure social distancing.
Lessons will be 25 minutes duration, to aid the flow of people through the building.
Children should turn up to lessons “beach ready” with swimwear on beneath outdoor clothing and encouraged to towel dry and leave. We recommend a dressing gown, onesie or dry robe to go over swimwear or normal clothing. Where it is not practical to go home with damp gear, changing rooms can be used but with only 4 changing areas per changing room and a limit of 5 minutes to change. Changing room spaces will be allocated on basis of priority.
Changing rooms and reception will be wiped down after each lesson.
Payment for lessons should be made over the phone before the start of the course, to make checking in faster and safer.
